The 234 Heritage Project — WordPress Landing Page Design for a Nigerian-American Cultural Heritage Summit

A vibrant, community-driven WordPress event landing page for the 234 Heritage Project Summit, built to drive 2025 registrations, showcase the Houston event, and build the interest list for the 2026 gathering.

Timeline: 2-week project

The 234 Heritage Project is a Houston-based community initiative bringing together families of Nigerian descent and lovers of Nigerian culture for an annual summit focused on cultural celebration, intergenerational connection, and personal, social, and professional development. The 2025 summit, described as ‘more than an event, a movement’, featured panels, workshops, and cultural programming for families in Houston. The 234 in the name refers to Nigeria’s international dialling code, signalling cultural pride and diaspora identity. The project operates on three pillars, Culture as Legacy, preserving Nigerian heritage through food, language, music, and story, Growth as Responsibility, tools for personal and professional development, and a third community pillar.

Elite IT Solutions designed and built a single-scroll WordPress landing page that presented the 2025 summit, showcased highlights, drove donations and event registrations through Eventbrite, and captured the 2026 interest list.

Client/Context

The 234 Heritage Project is a Houston, Texas, Nigerian-American cultural heritage initiative running an annual family summit.

A community-built event with a deeply personal mission needed a landing page that could communicate the emotional significance of the summit, not as a conference or networking event but as a cultural homecoming, while driving practical actions: Eventbrite registrations and donation contributions.

Problem Statement

Without a dedicated event landing page that captured the spirit and community feel of the 234 Heritage Project Summit, the organization was relying on social media posts alone to build attendance and donor support, missing the credibility and conversion structure that a standalone website provides.

Key Pain Points

  • The summit’s identity as a ‘movement’ rather than a standard event needed to be communicated emotionally; the page had to feel like a community invitation, not a corporate event listing
  • Post-2025 summit, the page needed to simultaneously celebrate the completed event, collect feedback, accept donations, and build the 2026 interest list, four distinct actions on a single page
  • The gallery of 30+ real summit photos was the most powerful trust and atmosphere signal available but needed to be displayed in a format that conveyed energy and scale without overwhelming the page structure

We built a single-scroll WordPress landing page that opens with a bold welcome: “The 234 Heritage Project, Together, we grow stronger.” The summit framing is set immediately as a movement, not just an event. Two CTAs in the hero serve parallel audiences: Watch Highlights (past attendees, warm leads) and Join Our 2026 Interest List (future registrants).

An About the Summit section describes the 2025 Houston event with warmth and gratitude, inviting feedback from attendees and building continuity into 2026. A Donation section presents the organisation’s funding mission, empowering intergenerational programming and preserving traditions, with a clear Eventbrite link for one-time and recurring gifts. A Summit Highlights gallery displays 30+ event photos in a scrollable format that conveys the energy and diversity of the programming. Three Pillars section (Culture as Legacy, Growth as Responsibility, community pillar) articulates the mission framework. An Agenda, Sessions, and Speakers section supports returning and new visitors with programme depth.

The 234 Heritage Project now has an event landing page that serves the full post-summit cycle, celebrating what happened, thanking those who came, accepting donations for the mission, and building the 2026 interest list. The gallery makes the summit feel real and accessible to families who haven’t attended yet, and the dual CTA structure captures both warm community members and new contacts at their respective stages of awareness.
