Massage School Website Design WordPress Case Study: Still Light Center

Elite IT Solutions designed a multi-pathway WordPress website for Still Light Center, an internationally accredited Thai Yoga Massage school offering professional certification and personal learning programs online and in person from its San Francisco Bay Area base.

Timeline: 1-month project

Still Light Center is a Thai Yoga Massage school founded by Shai Plonski, who has taught over 10,000 students since 2002 across the San Francisco Bay Area, Ontario, Sydney, and retreat venues worldwide. The school holds accreditation with NCBTMB, CMTO, Yoga Alliance, NHPCanada, and CMTNB, and is an accredited vocational school with the Province of Ontario. Course offerings span from a free introductory shoulder and neck massage challenge through to professional certification programmes, advanced courses, and in-person retreats at venues including the Kripalu Center. The school also produces bestselling Thai Massage mats and four bestselling books. YouTube content has accumulated over 500,000 views. The learner audience divides into three broad groups: individuals who want to massage loved ones informally, yoga teachers seeking hands-on skills, and professional massage therapists pursuing formal certification. Elite IT Solutions was engaged to build a WordPress website that could route all three audiences effectively.

Client/Context

A Thai Yoga Massage school based in the San Francisco Bay Area, founded by Shai Plonski, offering online and in-person certification courses and continuing education accredited by NCBTMB, CMTO, Yoga Alliance, and others, with satellite schools in Ontario and Sydney and bestselling books and Thai Massage mats.

Still Light Center was serving three quite distinct learner audiences simultaneously, namely people who want to massage loved ones informally, yoga teachers seeking hands-on skills, and professional massage therapists pursuing formal certification, and needed a WordPress website that could route each of these audiences to the right pathway without making the overall site feel cluttered, confusing, or generic to any of the three.

Problem Statement

Without a WordPress website that clearly separated the personal learning, yoga teacher, and professional certification pathways while presenting a cohesive school identity and communicating the breadth of the accreditation portfolio, Still Light Center could not effectively serve all three learner types from a single digital home without confusing or under-serving at least one.

Pain Points

  • Professional massage therapists evaluating certification programs need to see accreditation credentials, course hour requirements, continuing education eligibility, and post-certification support before committing to a program, information that generic wellness website templates rarely present in the structured format this audience expects.
  • Casual learners considering Thai massage for personal or family use need reassurance that the courses are accessible to beginners with no bodywork background and a free introductory pathway that lets them experience the teaching style before committing to a paid program.
  • The multi-location and multi-format course delivery, covering online, in-person Bay Area, Ontario satellite, Sydney satellite, and retreat-based options, created a scheduling and format presentation complexity that required a calendar and filtering system rather than a static course list.

Elite IT Solutions built a WordPress website for Still Light Center with a clear audience-routing homepage structure directing casual learners to introductory and couples course pathways, yoga teachers to hands-on integration content, and professional students to the certification, continuing education, and accreditation sections. The free Thai Massage Challenge is featured prominently as the zero-risk entry point for new visitors. The course calendar and location filter system supports the multi-format, multi-location delivery, and the school’s product range of mats and books is integrated without competing with the primary course conversion goals.

Still Light Center launched with a professional WordPress website that serves its three distinct learner audiences through clear pathway architecture, communicates its multi-body accreditation depth, and gives a globally credible Thai Yoga Massage school a digital presence that matches the breadth and quality of its teaching programs.
