A dignity centred WordPress website for Nyango Pads, a Cameroon based social enterprise producing affordable, eco friendly menstrual pads from banana fibre to address period poverty for women and girls.
Nyango Pads is a social enterprise based in Cameroon, founded by Carine, an MBA qualified financial controller who redirected her career toward social and ecological impact. The organisation produces locally made, biodegradable menstrual pads from banana fibre, offering an affordable and sustainable alternative to disposable products for women and girls across Cameroon, many of whom face significant barriers to safe, dignified menstrual care. The project is managed through a local women’s cooperative, combining community led governance with international partnership and funding support.
Elite IT Solutions designed and built a WordPress website that presents Nyango Pads’ mission, product, and goals to potential funders, partners, and supporters, using respectful, dignity first language throughout. The site walks visitors through the scale of period poverty in Cameroon, the organisation’s local production and community engagement approach, measurable 2025 to 2027 goals, and the founder’s personal story, before inviting supporters to back the project, partner with the organisation, or follow its progress through ongoing blog updates.
Without a respectful, clearly structured website, Nyango Pads had no central platform to explain period poverty in Cameroon, present its banana fibre pad solution and production model, or invite the funding and partnership support needed to launch and scale local production.
Menstrual health and period poverty are sensitive, often stigmatised subjects, so Nyango Pads needed a website that could communicate the scale and seriousness of the problem honestly without resorting to graphic or undignified language. The organisation also needed to balance two distinct audiences, international funders and partners who respond to clear goals and measurable impact, and the Cameroonian women and girls the project ultimately serves, while presenting the founder’s personal motivation in a way that built trust without overshadowing the women led cooperative driving the work on the ground.
We built a single-page WordPress website using respectful, dignity first language throughout to present Nyango Pads’ mission and product. The hero section introduces the organisation’s purpose directly, dignified, healthy, and eco friendly menstrual care for every woman in Cameroon, before a Challenge of Period Poverty section explains the scale of the issue through context rather than statistics alone, covering missed school days, product decomposition time, and the share of income menstrual products can consume for women earning minimum wage. A Mission section presents five guiding values, dignity, health, strength, future, and solidarity and inclusion, each paired with a short, respectful explanation. A Solution section introduces the banana fibre pad product and its eco friendly, local, affordable, and educational positioning, followed by an Approach section covering local production, community engagement, eco responsibility, and the organisation’s France to Cameroon partnership model. A Goals section presents measurable 2025 to 2027 targets, including local production launch, women trained in production and entrepreneurship, and girls and women reached. A Founder Story section introduces Carine’s background and motivation in her own framing, and a Blog section shares ongoing project updates and educational content, with Support the Project and Become a Partner calls to action placed throughout.
Nyango Pads now has a respectful, dignity centred website that explains period poverty in Cameroon honestly, presents its banana fibre pad solution and production model clearly, and gives funders, partners, and supporters multiple ways to engage. The founder’s story adds a personal layer of trust without overshadowing the women led cooperative driving the work in Cameroon.
