SAPPHIRE 87 (Sapphire87) is a US Newport News Virginia 501(c)(3) nonprofit organisation founded and led by CEO Charlotte A. McDowell, dedicated to supporting women and girls ages 20 to 35 in overcoming trauma through coaching, counseling, mentorship, holistic healing, and education. The brand operates from 700 Tech Center Parkway, Suite 200-95, Newport News VA 23606, in partnership with the Hampton Roads and Maryland Human Trafficking Task Forces. The brand identity rests on the Roaring While Silently Crying language (capturing the paradox of expressing intensity outwardly while concealing pain inwardly) and the S.H.E. acronym (Sapphire, Healing, Exuberant). SAPPHIRE 87 was operating in a US survivor advocacy nonprofit category where survivors arriving on the website are typically in moments of acute vulnerability, where the language and visual choices on the site signal either safety or risk within seconds, and where the task force partnerships (Hampton Roads, Maryland) and the 501(c)(3) free confidential framing are decisive trust signals that must be surfaced clearly without making the brand feel transactional. Without a project site that holds the Roaring While Silently Crying language with the gravity it deserves while still meeting survivors with practical immediate help framing, the brand was at risk of either understating the urgency or overstating it in a way that retraumatised the audience.

Problem Statement

SAPPHIRE 87 needed a project site that holds the Roaring While Silently Crying brand language with the gravity it deserves, surfaces the 501(c)(3) status and the Hampton Roads and Maryland Human Trafficking Task Force partnerships as decisive credibility signals, presents seven service blocks (Human Trafficking Intervention & Prevention, Inclusive & Confidential Care, Education & Awareness, Peer Support & Trauma Counseling, Holistic Healing & Wellness, Pathways to Independence, Advocacy & Navigation Support) as integrated programme tracks rather than isolated services, surfaces the National Human Trafficking Hotline (1-888-373-7888) and 911 immediate danger guidance prominently for survivors in crisis, opens donor and volunteer engagement paths through Zelle and a volunteer form, and routes contact through a single Newport News Virginia funnel under CEO Charlotte A. McDowell.
